European authorities in this matter was the conference on the circular economy in march 2017. The first objective was to present the results achieved to date in its different strategies and action plans. The second was to discuss with the interest groups the path to be followed in the future. The result of this conference was the creation of the european platform on the circular economy. This initiative corresponds to the second phase of development of the 2015 circular economy strategy and focuses on updating european legislation and the different national regulations.
The aim was to restrict the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment. On the other hand, it was also intended to replace the hazardous materials in this type of product, so that the recycling of the components would be e commerce photo editing more profitable. These modifications want to promote the second-hand market, the resale and the repair and reuse of electrical and electronic equipment. This would prevent, according to estimates, the generation of more than 3,000 tons of hazardous waste per year in the eu countries. In an increasingly mobilized and aware society, these groups advocate and pressure companies to make their products and production systems more sustainable.
